Christmas Wonderland at Gardens by the Bay

This is the best we could do for a tropical country with no snow

A thousand apologies for missing out on writing this past week as I had a death in the family. Now...back to work on a pretty short post!

We (Singaporeans) all know that Orchard Road is the "place" to go during Christmas season as it's packed with really beautiful decorations for all your photography needs. But this year, we had a new contender, Gardens by the Bay! After seeing all the hype on my Facebook timeline, I decided to head over there with the missus and our nickel boards for a little exploration.

This was literally the first "attraction" we came across. Its a boy by the way
Being an all year long summer country, we could only dream of a white Christmas but I believe we make up for that with our insane amount of investments in Christmas lights decoration. Just look at the photos I took that night.

Just follow the lights (or the crowd)
We went to Gardens by the Bay at around 10.30pm in order to avoid the crowds but little did we know we also avoided all attractions too (LOL). Yes, they had some mini amusement park games and "houses" you can visit but they were closed when we were there, and of course you have to pay for these. Gardens by the Bay is free entry though.

This tree reminds me of a movie with blue colour aliens and a story like Pocahontas
This is the Palace but as we didn't get to go in, its pretty much a palace of high electricity bills
A close-up of the lights. I don't know why you will need to see this but I took a photo so here it is.
At first I did hear about the Gardens by the Bay housing an ice skating rink but we can't seem to find it. There is also another paid display named the Christmas Toyland in the Floral Dome but as I am a cheapskate, we didn't go look at that.

Overall if you have nothing to do, its a nice place to take a stroll and enjoy the garden with the Christmas lights addition. Going at night without the crowd sure helps to enhance the overall experience.

Hope you had a wonderful Christmas and let's look forward to the new year, 2016 with lots of hope and laughter.
